Apply by July 15 for Introduction to Academic Radiology
The Introduction to Academic Radiology program shows second-year residents how they can pursue a successful, exciting and important career in academic radiology. The course is sponsored by RSNA, the Association of University Radiologists and American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS). Successful applicants will be assigned to a session either at RSNA 2009 or the ARRS annual meeting in 2010. Get more information/apply.

Residents, Fellows Earn $440,000 in 2009 Grants
Twelve residents and fellows have been awarded 2009 research grants through the RSNA Research & Education (R&E) Foundation. Among the projects that received $50,000 Research Fellow Grants or $30,000 Research Resident Grants were those investigating topics such as:

• Molecular imaging of the inflammatory enzyme myeloperoxidase in murine cerebral ischemia

• Targeted radioiodinated nanoparticles for the treatment of high-grade glioma

• Adenosine-induced stress myocardial perfusion imaging using dual-source cardiac CT
  

• High-resolution RNA-based targeted PET imaging agents for prostate cancer

Radiology Wants Your Diagnosis … Please
The popular “Diagnosis Please” feature in Radiology welcomes monthly submissions from individual residents as well as groups of residents in training programs all over the world. At the end of the 12-case cycle, Radiology will announce those who have submitted the highest number of correct answers. The May issue features the case of a 43-year-old man admitted for new onset of bitemporal headache, bilateral lower extremity numbness and generalized tonic-clonic seizure. Read on and weigh in.

Best Cases from the AFIP Archives: Breast Masses in Children and Adolescents
Learn to recognize the features of each of the common breast masses in children and provide an age-appropriate differential diagnosis.
